How We Evaluate Gear

Honesty matters more than hype. Here's exactly how we research and rank the products we recommend — and where our limits are.

Our process

1. Map the market. We build a spreadsheet of every credible model — specs, price, materials, warranty, temperature range, power draw and availability.
2. Synthesise real owner reviews. We read hundreds to thousands of verified buyer reviews and community threads to surface the patterns owners actually report.
3. Weigh the trade-offs. We score each option on what matters in that category and match products to the buyer they truly suit.
4. Pressure-test the picks. Before publishing we ask: would we spend our own money on this, and who should not buy it?

Where we're transparent

We're a small independent team and we don't claim to have personally installed every $6,000 tub in our own homes. When a verdict is based on hands-on use, we say so. When it's based on rigorous spec-and-review analysis, we say that too.
